Our Candidates
Vidabela follows a rigorous identification and selection process based on specific guidelines determined by the board in order to award scholarships to candidates. As there is a huge pool of young talent without the financial resources to attend university, the competition to earn a scholarship is intense, and therefore the criteria determined by Vidabela aims to balance aspects of human character with the academic record.
In order for a young individual to become a candidate for a Vidabela scholarship, he or she must have passed the university application tests (of any accredited university within any specialization in Brazil or Mexico) and should have an annual family income of less than US$ 5,000 (isn’t the requirement much lower, about US $2,500?). The students that have earned this scholarship have overcome many challenges in their young lives and have succeeded , despite having grown up in extremely underprivileged neighborhoods, where they had to work outside and at home while they studied and completed elementary and high school.
Furthermore, our current students have proven to Vidabela, through a series of academic and psychological tests that they are determined to invest part of their academic and professional post university income to the development of the communities where they grew up.
If you are or if you know young talent with these characteristics and believe that he or she has the potential of earning a Vidabela Scholarship, please contact us at:vidabela@vidabela.org
